Balmoral Swim for Cancer

Balmoral Swim for Cancer 2016 Article

14 Mar 2016

The Balmoral Swim for Cancer - Schools Relay Challenge took place on Sunday 13, March. 36 enthusiastic, competitive, and charitable girls attended the annual Schools Relay Challenge.

Wenona was admirably represented by eight teams, consisting of three Junior, four Intermediate and one Senior. The girls competed against Shore, Riverview, Queenwood and Mosman High School. Wenona raised $7,558.20 with all proceeds going to the Children's Cancer Institute.  All participants swam hard and were great ambassadors for the school.

Junior teams placed 2nd, just behind a strong Riverview team. The remaining teams placed 5th and 10th out of 20.

Intermediate teams placed 3rd and again were the first girls team across the line. The remaining teams placed 7th, 10th, 13th.

The Senior team placed 4th, all four girls swam very well and were extremely unfortunate to be pipped at the post by Queenwood.

Wenona placed 3rd overall with boy’s schools placed in first and second.

The Wenona Junior 1 and 2 teams were awarded the perpetual trophy for the top fundraisers with both teams equally raising $2,955.20 each. This is an amazing effort, supporting a fantastic cause. We would like to congratulate all girls who represented Wenona, raised money, and worked hard to support the Children’s Cancer Institute.
