Board of Governors

Wenona is owned and operated by Wenona School Limited, a company limited by guarantee. Wenona School Limited is controlled by a Board of Governors who are the directors of the company. Board members bring to their role expertise from a range of professional backgrounds. Some have strong family ties with Wenona, some are Old Girls and some are parents of present Wenonians, ensuring an all-round understanding of the Wenona community.

Wenona’s Board of Governors is committed to flexibility and innovation in education and to providing the resources and environment to achieve this, while holding to Wenona’s strong traditions.

Catherine West

Ms Catherine West, BEc, LLB (Hons)

Ms Catherine West joined the Wenona Board of Governors in October 2017 and has been its Chair since 2022. She also chairs Nine Entertainment and the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA). Ms West serves as Director or Non-Executive Director of a range of additional foundations and boards including Peter Warren Automotive, Monash IVF Group, and the Sydney Breast Cancer Foundation. Ms West holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons)/Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. A former Wenona student, Ms West is the parent of two Wenona Alumnae and a student in Year 11.

Antoinette Anazodo USE

Associate Professor Antoinette Anazodo OAM – MD PhD, BSc, MBBS, MSC, Diploma in Adolescent Medicine

Associate Professor Antoinette Anazodo OAM CF joined the Wenona Board of Governors in March 2021. She has been a paediatric and adolescent oncology consultant at Sydney Children's Hospital for 15 years and is a Clinician Academic at the University of New South Wales in the Living Better With and After Cancer Group. A/Prof Anazodo is recognised in Australia as one of the leaders in the care of Adolescent and Young Adult cancer patients and she has a strong research interest in sold malignancies, rare cancers, survivorship care, and psychological care during and after treatment. A/Prof Anazodo’s numerous awards include an Order of Australia (General Division) for her contributions to Adolescent and Young Adult, and Oncofertility Medicine. She is the parent of a Wenona student in Year 8.

Kate Burleigh USE

Ms Kate Burleigh – Masters of Business and Marketing, BA (Political Science) (Chair of the Board’s Compliance and Governance sub-committee)

Ms Kate Burleigh joined the Wenona Board of Governors in March 2021 and is Chair of its Compliance and Governance sub-committee. She is a Non-Executive Director of Holland Insurance and the Cancer Charity Camp Quality, and a former Executive Director and National Manager of Amazon Alexa and AI Technologies. Ms Burleigh has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney and a Master of Business and Marketing from the University of Technology Sydney. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Elected Member of Chief Executive Women. A Wenona Alumna, Ms Burleigh is the mother of two Wenona graduates.

Marnie Devereux USE

Ms Marnie Devereux – BAppSc Const Mgt, MBA (Exec)

Ms Marnie Devereux joined the Wenona Board of Governors in May 2024, bringing nearly 30 years’ of experience in executive and leadership roles in property, development, design, and construction management in Australia and the United Kingdom. Ms Devereux was most recently the Head of Retail and Development at Lendlease. Her former roles include Associate Director at British-based global property and construction consultancy Gleeds. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Construction Management) from the Queensland University of Technology and an MBA (Executive) from the Australian Graduate School of Management. The parent of a Year 9 Wenona student and a previous President and Treasurer of the Wenona Parents’ Association, Ms Devereaux has a strong record of supporting the School.

Wallis Graham USE

Ms Wallis Graham – BA Econ Maths, GAICD (Member of Wenona Foundation Board)

Ms Wallis Graham joined the Wenona Board of Governors in March 2017. She is also a Non-Executive Director of Servcorp and Whitehaven Coal. Ms Graham is a Senior Consultant at Energy Capital Partners and sits on the Board of the Garvan Research Foundation and the Sydney Youth Orchestras. During an extensive career in both the American and Australian finance sectors, Ms Graham has held senior roles at Goldman Sachs and Saks Fifth Avenue. She has a BA in Economics Modified with Mathematics from Dartmouth College in the United States and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Ms Graham is the parent of a Wenona student in Year 9.

Anne Hemmings

Ms Anne Hemmings – BAppSc, DipL, LLM (Chair of the Board’s Physical Resources sub-committee)

Ms Anne Hemmings joined the Wenona Board of Governors in March 2016 and is Chair of its Physical Resources Committee. She has been a Barrister with Martin Place Chambers for over a decade and has extensive experience in both private and public sector legal roles. Ms Hemmings specialises in planning, environment, valuation, and local government law. She is also a longstanding member of the Executive Committee of the Environment and Planning Law Association (NSW) (EPLA) and edits the Environmental Law News. Ms Hemmings has a Bachelor of Applied Science, Diploma of Law, and Masters of Law from the University of Sydney. She is the mother of two Wenona Alumnae and a current student in Year 11.

Ben Keeble USE

Mr Ben Keeble – BA (Hons), GAICD (Member of Wenona Foundation Board)

Mr Ben Keeble joined the Wenona Board of Governors in May 2024. He is CEO and Managing Director of E&P Financial Group and has had a 30-year career in finance both in Europe and Australia. Mr Keeble’s former roles include Managing Director at both CVC Asia Pacific and UBS Investment Bank. He is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Modern Languages and Literature from the University of Bristol. He is the parent of a Wenona Alumna and two current students in Years 8 and 12.

Jillian Masselos USE

Ms Jillian Masselos – BBus, CA (Deputy Chair)

Mrs Jillian Masselos joined the Wenona Board of Governors in May 2013 and is its Deputy Chair. With over 20 years of accounting and finance experience, she is a Chartered Accountant and Graduate of the Institute of Company Directors. Ms Masselos has held the position of Chief Financial Officer in a diverse portfolio of companies such as ASX-listed corporations, private equity-backed enterprises, and privately held firms. Her industry experience includes sectors such as healthcare and media. Previously Ms Masselos worked at KPMG in the audit and advisory business for mid-market clients in property, retail, manufacturing, and marketing. She has served as an officer on private company boards in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Mrs Masselos (Stacker) was a Wenona Prefect in 1995 and is the parent of students in Years 3, 7, and 10.

Manny Petros USE

Mr Manny Petros – BCom (Hons), LLB, MBA (Deans List), CA

Mr Manny Petros joined the Wenona Board of Governors in March 2024. His professional career includes over 20 years with the Macquarie Group, where he has accrued a wealth of experience advising Australian and offshore clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets transactions, and initial public offerings. Mr Petros has a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Western Australia, as well as an MBA from INSEAD (Dean’s List). He is also a qualified Chartered Accountant and the father of two current Wenona students in Years 5 and 8.

Chris Pope

Mr Chris Pope – B Eng (Hons) in Civil Engineering, MSc in Construction and Project Management

Mr Chris Pope joined the Wenona Board of Governors in March 2021 and has over 25 years of experience in property development and construction management. He is the Director of Pope Property, an independent property consultancy he founded in 2019. The firm has successfully advised on numerous high-profile projects spanning the wider Sydney region. He has also held leadership positions across Australia, the United States, and Indonesia. Mr Pope holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Cardiff University and a Master of Science in Construction and Project Management from the University of Reading. He was recognised as a finalist for UDIA Young Developer of the Year. He is the parent of Wenona students in Years 10 and 12.
