A Visual Feast: Visual Arts Exhibition

ART WEB NEWS TEMPLATE T42

Take a sneak peak at our Visual Arts Exhibition! These stunning ceramics, linocuts, photographs and charcoal drawings serve as a powerful reminder that visual art helps to motivate the next generation to reinterpret, challenge and enjoy the world around them.

Our Year 7 students let their imaginations run wild to produce a host of crazy clay creatures. Their work included a crocodile with a striped tail and frogs’ legs and a wonderfully vibrant pink seal complete with whale tail.

If you’re wondering what to eat tonight, take inspiration from these strikingly beautiful linocuts created by our Year 9 students. The girls brought in an array of different dishes to stimulate their creativity, serving up these impressive (and delicious looking) artworks.

Year 9 put their photographic skills to clever use, employing a variety of graphical elements and collage techniques to challenge the idea of photography. Some students drew on the work of celebrated digital artist, Maggie Taylor, to reimagine everyday objects. The results are undeniably beautiful.

Renaissance visionary, Leonardo da Vinci’s flying machines inspired our Year 10 girls to create these astonishingly detailed works of art.

Some students chose to capture the urban landscape in a series of visually stunning black and white photographs. Others produced incredibly life-like portraits in charcoal.

Thank you to all our Visual Arts staff who have worked so hard to bring this exhibition to life and well done to all the students.
