Congratulations to Georgia and Lauren of Year 6, Sophie of Year 5 and Melissa of Year 4 who won their respective divisions at the Junior School Music Awards on Wednesday 19 October, 2016.

The Junior School Music Awards is Wenona’s annual music competition for students in Years 3 to 6. The girls have to compete in two heats on their chosen instrument or voice before being judged by external adjudicators at the finals.

The 2016 finalists played a wide repertoire of contemporary and classical pieces on instruments from cello to saxophone and voice. “There was an evidence of students who love their music and who are prepared to work out the daily grind of practice,” said Head of Junior School Mrs Roslyn Mahony.

Petite Voices and Eloise of Year 7 (the 2015 winner) also performed on the night.
