STEM Transport Showcase

23 Jun 2016

STEM Showcase inner

It isn't everyday that the Wenona Undercroft is turned into a car garage display. But in Term 2, the annual STEM Transport Showcase unveiled more than a range of old and new cars. This year's line up hosted solar racers, robots and a light air craft!

For the third year running, Head of STEM Mr Andy Draper organised the showcase for students to uncover the science and engineering behind the bonnets.

"The enthusiasm for machines is infectious," Mr Draper said. "This is reflected in our students' interest in so many of the visiting vehicles from the past couple of years."

The girls were mesmerised by the gizmos and gadgets, and learned about how solar energy is obtained to power the electric competition vehicles known as solar racers.
