Meet Our Next Wenona Principal from January 2025
Commencing in January 2025, Ms Linda Douglas is a recognised educational leader both within Australia and internationally.
An Executive Governing Director of the International Coalition of Girls' Schools, she is currently a Board Member of Independent Schools Victoria and has been a contributor to other boards and educational committees. Ms Douglas is committed to continuous learning, completing a Master of Education at The University of Melbourne and both the Harvard Graduate School of Education Achieving Excellence Program and the Leading Learning that Matters Project.
Ms Douglas is joining Wenona after completing fourteen years as Principal of Ruyton Girls’ School, a prestigious independent Melbourne school with an outstanding reputation for academic and co-curricular excellence. Previous to this, she held a number of senior leadership roles in Adelaide and Melbourne schools, including head of school and principal.
Throughout her career, Ms Douglas has demonstrated a holistic approach and a commitment to growth and innovation. At Ruyton, she oversaw the development of signature programs alongside significant expansion projects and facility redevelopments, to ensure contemporary educational approaches.
A staunch advocate of girls’ education and the empowerment of young women, Ms Douglas has shared her insights on a broad range of topics relating to girls' education and women in leadership. She is an accomplished speaker and writer who has contributed to national and international forums and conferences, as well as research and publications.
Ms Douglas is looking forward to meeting the Wenona community and working with staff to build upon Dr Scott’s strong legacy when she joins us as Principal in January 2025.
