Year 9 Student Represents Australia at the Robotics World Championships

What started as a fondness for LEGO as a child transformed into representing Australia at the VEX Robotics World Championships in the US for Year 9 student, Mia.

After years of playing with LEGO, and under the advice of her mother, Mia decided to venture into the world of VEX Robotics, as a way of enhancing her already strong interest in STEM and engineering. She, along with two of her friends, started meeting after school, to educate themselves and learn more about the program, before entering competitions as a team. Before long, Mia and her friends were competing in regional competitions, then nationals, until finally, they were selected to represent Australia at the VEX World Championships in the US!

We sat down with Mia to find out more about her journey to the World Championships, and what she most enjoys about STEM and robotics.
