Wenona swimmers make waves against cancer.

A group of hardy Wenonians refused to let Sunday's wind and rain dampen their enthusiasm for raising funds for children's cancer research.

Around 30 members of the Wenona Swimming Club joined the throng for the 2023 Balmoral Swim, one of the north shore's best-loved charity events.

While the spectators were rugged up and hugging their umbrellas, our girls hit the choppy water to compete in 20 relays as part of the Schools Challenge Relay event.

"So many people are affected by childhood cancer, so it is important for us to get involved in order to provide the support we can," said 2022-2023 Swimming Captain Isabella (Year 12).

Isabella has been participating in the Balmoral Swim since she was in Year 4. "I love it – it is such a fun and inclusive way of raising money. All the girls enjoy teaming up and racing in its fun, competitive environment," she said.
