Boarding Life
Wenona Boarding builds memorable moments and lasting friendships to ensure the comforts of home.
Seasonal Celebrations
We’re edging towards the festive season and Wenona boarders have been getting creative. Along with putting up their Christmas tree, they’ve crafted Rocky Road wreaths - a wonderfully messy endeavour, and they’re sure to have plenty more holiday traditions to come.
Culinary Culture
If you were to peek into our Boarding House kitchen on any given evening, you might find the girls elbow-deep in flour, mastering the art of fresh pasta-making or turning out freshly made muffins. Such sessions are a highlight of Wenona Boarding life, whether the goal is to craft treats to eat at ‘Movie Night’ or for distribution to those in need, through organisations like St Vincent de Paul.
Sydney Adventures
All year, every year, our boarders make the most of their weekends with some brilliant outings around Sydney. A particular highlight in 2024 was the chance to watch them tackle Taronga Zoo's tree tops course, encouraging each other along the way. Other activities have included afternoons at Madame Tussauds, ice skating and putt putt golf in the dark, which all provided plenty of entertainment.
Cosy Evening Traditions
After busy School days, our Boarding House transforms into a haven of relaxation. Friday evenings are particularly special, with students gathering for painting sessions or cosying up in front of a film, complete with mountains of popcorn. They are peaceful moments of shared downtime that strengthen the bonds between boarders in memorable ways.
Our Boarding Family
Wenona is particularly proud of how our Boarding staff nurture a true sense of community, supporting, celebrating, and bringing out the best in every girl. It is a culture that is evident in everything from the boarders’ 2024 Cadet recruits to Let’s Dance sessions and crazy game nights – a ‘family’ experience we would all like to be a part of.
